Optimize your schedule intelligently with RALF

Does your solution include AI?

Everysens uses Artificial Intelligence in two essential elements of TVMS: the optimization of the transport schedule and the calculation of the ETA.

The optimization of the transport schedule is carried out by RALF, the intelligent assistant. When the customer (shipper) enters an order into the platform, RALF automatically transforms it into a transport corresponding to the need. Then, this transport is optimized by RALF: composition of the train, route, choice of carrier...

As for the calculation of the ETA, it is done continuously during the trip. Based on the schedules of passage of the cars at the intermediate points of the journey, the platform offers an ETA updated regularly and calculated according to the potential delay perceived at the intermediate point.

How does RALF suggest an optimized transport schedule?

RALF, the intelligent assistant, optimizes the transport schedule for the shipper. The shipper submits a transport order on the platform, which RALF transforms into optimized transport. This order includes the following items: origin and destination, departure and delivery date, product transported. When optimizing transport, RALF adds several elements to this transport order: the composition of the train (type and number of cars), the route it will take, the dates and locations of departure and arrival as well as the choice of the carrier. These are the elements that RALF optimizes.

Several criteria are taken into account by artificial intelligence when making this choice: types of cars available, number of cars available, availability of the loading and unloading site, availability of the product, availability of passage on the rails... Note that the main criterion remains financial optimization. RALF always makes the most financially advantageous choice for the shipper.

Each transport is optimised individually. RALF does not optimize transport in relation to each other, nor the overall planning. This means that transport A will be optimized individually, just like transport B and C. Transport A, B and C will not however be optimized in relation to each other within an overall transport schedule. The optimization of this global schedule, for example to limit the parking of empty cars on site, is not part of RALF's capabilities at the moment.
