The QR code consignment note - Everysens did it!

As previously announced, Everysens has launched the QR code waybill. After digitizing the waybill, Everysens wanted to go further by facilitating the creation of the waybill - in the field - using a QR code.

In a nutshell

As previously announced, Everysens has launched the QR code waybill. After digitizing the waybill, Everysens wanted to go further by facilitating the creation of the waybill - in the field - using a QR code.

As we announced to you, Everysens has launched The waybill by QR code. Indeed, after digitizing the waybill, Everysens wanted to go even further by facilitating the creation of waybills directly in the field using a QR code.

A consignment note - what is it?

The consignment note is a contractual document between the shipper, the carrier and the consignee relating the details and instructions for the shipment of a shipment of goods. This document acts as a transport order and as proof of the contract of carriage. It is therefore a legal obligation for the shipper and the carrier.

A wealth of information can be found on the consignment note — among others :

  • Company contact information as well as yours
  • The mode of transport
  • The type of goods
  • Vehicle registration
  • The date and time of loading and unloading the delivery
  • The prices
  • The amount of compensation if a delay is noted

The creation of a consignment note can be particularly time-consuming if operators are responsible for managing several railway companies simultaneously on a daily basis. Risks of errors are therefore possible and some information is missed.

Moreover, with the exponential growth of international exchanges, companies no longer have a choice: equipping themselves with new digital and innovative solutions is becoming essential!

That is why Everysens decided to create a digital consignment note. Once edited, the waybill is automatically shared with all transport stakeholders - directly via the platform. This makes it possible to streamline collaboration by centralizing all documents on a single platform. Thanks to the waybill, you will have access to real-time monitoring of all your transport.

Here is a feedback from one of our customers — Calcia Cements. A major player in the cement industry in France, Ciments Calcia owns 10 production sites and markets 5.3 million tons of cement. This high number of sites and goods requires a structured and proactive logistical organization. Until now, Ciments Calcia used multiple tools to communicate on their rail traffic. However, this was time consuming as information was shared individually to each stakeholder. In order to remedy this, they called on Everysens to work on the interoperability of their data:

We can trigger our transports, manage our entire fleet and analyze our transport performance on a single platform. Thanks to this centralization of information, we are thus banking on operational excellence in our management processes. Nicolas Plouvio, Railway Logistics Manager at Ciments Calcia

A waybill by QR code

As I was telling you, at Everysens we are constantly looking for innovation. After launching the digital consignment note, today we are presenting the QR code waybill.

A QR code will be attached to each wagon. Once scanned, the transport tracking will be automatically sent to the Everysens platform. All data will then be centralized on the platform with live visibility of transport performance.

A single scan and all the information will be sent on the same platform. This saves time as well as general collaboration.

Adding the cars to the waybill by QR code greatly simplifies the creation of the document, since it can now be composed directly in the field. This eliminates the risk of input errors, and represents a real time saver for us. Amadou Sall, Railway Logistics Coordinator at Eqiom.
