Cement manufacturer Eqiom signs with Everysens to obtain real-time visibility on its supplies.

With 115 concrete plants and 33 aggregates sites, Eqiom is a major player in building materials. The group has signed a 3-year contract with Everysens, publisher of a collaborative logistics visibility platform, to benefit from real-time tracking and performance analysis of supplies to their various sites.

The silos of the cement depots are fed by train. Delays in upstream rail flows can thus cause stock-outs and overflows to the road. Supplies by truck represent an additional cost for Eqiom, and delays obviously have an impact on customer satisfaction.

By combining IoT and AI technologies, Everysens offers the cement manufacturer real-time visibility on its convoys as well as on the availability of assets on ITEs. Eqiom thus has estimates of estimated times of arrival (ETA), and can therefore provide internal and external information on the movement of goods.

The second challenge that Eqiom calls on Everysens for is the thorough mastery of its transportation plan. The partnership allows the cement manufacturer to consult reliable indicators to adjust its transport plan and manage its logistics investments as closely as possible to its real needs.

Since time-consuming information retrieval tasks are eliminated with the Everysens solution, significant productivity gains are expected. In addition, since delivery times are recorded by geofencing and GPS location, Eqiom will be able to accurately measure the performance of its transport operations.

"As part of our innovation policy, we have made logistical transparency a priority. This is why we chose Everysens, which gives us complete visibility of our supplies," says François Meyer, Eqiom's Logistics Director.
