Shippeo, a leader in global and multimodal transport visibility, has partnered with Everysens, a leading provider of rail and intermodal TMS software, to strengthen their multimodal visibility offering. Everysens will provide Shippeo with the most reliable rail ETA on the market, based on real-time data from satellite tracking and rail operators.
This two-way partnership allows Everysens to benefit from Shippeo's extensive network of road and sea carriers, which provides rail and intermodal shippers and their customers with high quality shipment tracking data. By sharing accurate and reliable road ETAs and maritime shipment events, Everysens can better anticipate the impacts of these flows on rail logistics.
In return, Shippeo receives from Everysens a stream of railway events, including ETAs, GPS positions and loading statuses. Everysens provides ETAs for full trains, but also for single wagons, a unique feature in the market. This enhanced visibility on all rail freight modes will be available worldwide for Shippeo customers. In addition, Everysens covers the entire transport process: tendering, collaborative smart planning, consignment notes andCO2 emissions.
By integrating their respective shipping ETAs, the two companies offer their customers better end-to-end visibility, creating new opportunities for a unified and unbundled approach tosupply chain convergence. Shippers benefit from greater logistics transparency and flow optimisation.
"Due to disruptive global events, shippers are facing more and more logistical challenges, and want to know when their shipments will arrive at their destination," says Lucien Besse, COO and co-founder at Shippeo. "The environmental protection playing an increasingly important role in transport management, rail is gaining popularity as an intermodal transport method. However, gaining visibility into rail shipments has not always been easy for shippers. The partnership between Shippeo and Everysens increases shippers' confidence in rail and multimodal deliveriesThe partnership between Shippeo and Everysens provides them with key monitoring points, as well as the ability to measure and improve their processes."
"Rail is already an important link in multimodal logistics. The effects of the European Green Deal The effects of the Green Deal are rapidly positioning rail as the future of freight," says Dr Youness Lemrabet, CEO and founder of Everysens. "The objective is clear: 30% modal share for rail by 2030, with an estimated impact of 290 million tonnes ofCO2 saved. To achieve this, rail needs new entrants, for which intermodal is the first point of entry. Thanks to this partnership, we can make the link between rail and the first and last mile transport modes, to make modal shift a reality. "
